Hmm... I thought it was an ummEthhakaya... you know, the prickly fruit you hang on top of the vinaayaka murthi. Looks bigger. Gotto plead ignorance (lemme have a penny...) (OK OK! Make it a rupee!). The durian looks bigger. Got a generic Indian name for it?

More like panasa kaaya (=='jackfruit'). Both come from the same family, but the durian is stronger in its scent, and heavier to eat.
