Have u tried formatting whole C and try? If that also fails then try formatting whole system with some third party software like partition magic, then install win XP, Hope u will do it.
I admit it's tempting and he is treading on holy territory, but I think we can call this a first offence and let it slide. Anyone care to enlighten "Beta-Arjun" here? Come on, step up you can be kRSna for a day.
Alamand***, I think you posted in response to the wrong entry. Are we sure we aren't drinking again?
Kiran, *sigh*, it's much more complicated than that. There's a sordid tale here involving a Win XP SP2 that refuses to uninstall, a SP1 CD that doesn't want to overwrite a SP2 install, wireless USB keyboards that dont get recognised on boot-up, new-fangled CMOS's that insist on *asking* if I'd like to boot up from the CD/DVD, and a system that re-boots by itself.
As with, of course, accounts that haven't been settled, bills that have to be paid (don't want to do it at work for obvious privacy reasons), projects that need to be done.... *sigh* okay, could have been much worse :-), but still.
And oh, XP is quite finicky sometimes on install -- strange, considering that Linux was in that position a while ago, but lately Linux seems to work anywhere but not Windows =)

Actually, screw all that. Re-formatting C: through Partition Magic is a BLODDY good idea. Mucho gracias and all.

Have a bootable Knoppiz CD and a nice external HD or a USB drive. Always comes in handy in times of emergency ;-)
