Okay, so that was painless.
While I was most certainly rooting for Non-Bush, frankly folks, the outcome doesn't REALLLLLLY affect me one way or another; the skies are most definitely NOT going to fall on our heads even if it is Bush who got in.
That said, I'm more curious about the way in which the results petered out; fascinating to see that there is a sort of topographical unity to the places where the Republicans and the Democrats have won. And this is a pattern that can be easily argued to exist at both a macro level and a micro level; consequently, Ohio is a battleground state, not because its electorate is less decided than, say, Texas' is, but purely because of its location. It is, in fact, the meeting point for an America that's blue on its sides and red in the middle; if my earlier research is any suggestion, this is a dichotomy that will become stronger in the days to come.
I'll elaborate on this by the weekend. :-)
Meanwhile, my NaNoWriMo attempt is in a strong need of some significant concentration; the word count, currently, is pathetic (0), and will possibly continue to be so for another two days. Major f*ckup out in Australia; quite possible that my working hours might just get longer now. That, and had this throbbing headache this evening, so decided some Panadol and some sleep would be more beneficial than in figuring out which gully goes where in Falejbagh. Oooh well.

Quite honestly, it's not all that surprising.
I was rooting for Bush simply because contrary to popular belief, Bush is indeed a good leader - there are several reasons I chose him, but almost all were rational and well thought out ones.
And contrary to what the Slashdot crowd would have you think, Bush is definitely a better choice than Kerry.
And the very worst case - four more years of bad administration and you're done with him - he is not even going to be re-elected, so why bother with the ruckus?
Eitherway, the Dems chose a fucking retarded wimp, I'd blame them entirely. Hell, Matt Daemon out of Team America would have done better.
It's theirs to blame. Oh well, enough of that. Goodluck on the NaNoWriMo stuff, do keep us updated!

My reason for supporting Non-Bush is more historical than anything else. That is, while I'm acutely aware of the fact that the US-ians have fucked up in Iraq, fact is, I supported the war. Bush's stem cell policy is quite good; helps a certain local dollar dump called 'Biopolis' tremendously. Abortion is the major point of difference; can't stand all those puritan arguments about 'sanctity' of life and stuff.
So, nope, the rooting for non-Bush isn't because of policy; it's because of history. You see, four years back, I was actually rooting for Bush, mainly because I thought Al Gore was a pompous know-it-all prick who deserved to be silenced.
It was only when he lost that I realised *I* was one such pompous know-it-all prick most of the time.
