An Act of Estimating Something as Worthless.

Chats and such.

Nothing much to report tonight, except that did end up going to the French Meetup Group, and yup, discovered yet another good watering hole next to the Singapore river. It's called Oosters and serves excellent Belgian beer. Didn't quite check alchohol out for paunch reasons, but the ambience and the company more than made up for it.

Haven't uttered this term in two years now, so it was rather amusing to narrate just what a schizotypal personality is.

Kiran and Shanks, compliments on some fairly well-thought out responses, but both you guys are missing two crucial points on which I'll elaborate sometime during the day tomorrow.

That's exactly the reason I can't ever possibly dream of finding cool acquaintances. Cool people smoke and drink. I gag at the smell of tobacco smoke. Alcohol - you know my views already.

I'm going to be alone all my life.

Surprisingly enough, I'm off drinks myself for the past... wooo, TWO months! Somehow, beer (or any hard liquor!) is beginning to taste more acerbic than pleasureable; perhaps it's got to do with my new found fascination with contemplation, finding my inner peace and other new-age-y stuff.

Cool people smoke and drink.Cool people accept you for who you are, even if that means you refrain from smoking and drinking. I am partial to Maker's Mark on the rocks. But I am a reporter. That is part of my job description.

Khanh: Indeed, the point about being a cooleshwar is that you dont give a shit to what folks think.

That Shanks has forgotten this important piece of school-lore will be noted and will be taken against him when the Alumnus Review Committee meets the next time.

Meh! Never was cool and will always remain needy.

Is Shanks one of those needy guys Maureen Dowd assailed in a recent NYT Op-Ed piece? Re: Belgian beer, Stella Artois is the best. The raspberry flavored Belgian brew is also yummy.

    [From the Maureen Dowd article]:

"The hypothesis," Brown said, "is that there are evolutionary pressures on males to take steps to minimize the risk of raising offspring that are not their own." Women, by contrast, did not show a marked difference in their attraction to men who might work above or below them. Women, by contrast, did not show a marked difference in their attraction to men who might work above or below them.Ha! Can't remember the book I read this in, but this, apparently, is untrue; women also look for men more successful than them, for "evolutionary" reasons. Or even if they do get attached with less-successful men, they choose to have affairs outside marriage, again, for "evolutionary" reasons. Could bring up the name of the book after some intense googling.

Personally, I think all this evolutionary nonsense is bunkum; it's just that everyone would like to have a good time at minimal expense.

That said, Shanks, with your most recent response, your exclusion from the Cooleshwar Council is eminent; we invite you to join and contribute to the Could-Have-Been-Cooleshwars,-But-Choose-Not-To Sub-Council. Been good having you around mate.

Belgian beer: Stella Artois is paisa vasool (value for money) of course, but if you like that, you MUST try Chimay (Rouge | Bleu) Awesome stuff!

Chimay, brewed by monks from centuries-old recipes and tapped in quaint dark bottles. What could be better.

Then again, wars have been fought, and won, for lesser drinks.
