Posting from an Athlon XP 2600+ with ATI Radeon 9200 SE, NVidia SoundStorm, Creative wireless keyboard/mouse, 5.1 surround sound speakers, 12X dual layer DVD+/-R, 512 MB RAM, 80 GB harddisk!
No, don't renew my geek card as yet; it's been lying in boxes for the past one week unopened. The gym was more attractive than the comp, serious. :-|

Could the recent arrival of the Desi date have something to do with your choosing the gym over the new computer? Wouldn't it be better to show the Desi date your six-pack abs than your 80-gig hard drive?

Eighty gigs. Six pack. Eighty gigs. Six pack. Hmmm. Maybe you could attract a chick who wants to share or stash oodles of files on your hard drive.
I can share an anecdote about geeks who successfully woo girls. A certain Desi tried to win me over by offering to host my blog "all nerd-style." It was a sweet gesture, but I declined. It was simply too nerdy for me! Nonetheless, the cute nerd persisted and tried other moves, such as writing me regularly and sending me copies of The New Yorker overseas. I eventually went out with him and didn't regret a minute of it.
