An Act of Estimating Something as Worthless.

Statement of the Day.

"Khanh told me so much about you that I thought you guys met [in meatspace]!" - Yudhi-dhar's mom.

:-)

(By way of musing on the sheer schizophrenia that is meeting cyber-friends in meatspace; you know them, but then again, you don't. Therein lies the weird-itude.)

We will meet one day! I suppose it is a little awkward meeting cyber-friends at first. You wonder if the online rapport will transform into real-life chemistry. I suppose pen pals of the old days probably faced the same predicament when they met in person.

Naaah, it wasn't *awkward* meeting Yudi-dhar and family; just a tad interesting in trying to relate Sridhar to Yudhishtra, if you know what I mean. Yudishtra sounds older than Sri does.

(I guess I'll get that myself, of course, but anyway)

Don't we all sound older online? Sometimes we project what we think the other person should sound like. Sridhar does have a boyishly handsome face. So it's not surprising that you thought Yudishtira was older.

Yeah, on the same topic there're a couple of things we need to talk about :-p

    Metlin,

    Sure.

Do I know what specific things you are going to talk about? :-)

Yeah, what are we going to talk about?

    Khanh,

I have a nagging suspicion that Metlin wants to call the Third Council of Netcia [1] to discuss matters regarding Iconography and the Accidental Use of IM Powers At Night Time.

The only question is if he would, as it were, use IM's to accomplish that, or are we going to use a series of well-placed symbols in public blogs [2] to debate the issue?

    [1]- Obscure theology pun.
[2]- Not so obscure pop lit. pun; easy to break Da Code on this.

Oh, I get it--inside joke in a public forum.

Oh, I have nothing to hide, but clearly, Metlin was speaking in some sort of code, so thought I'd obscure it to the same extent.

Now, strangely (for him), he's been incommunicado on chat for a few days now, so frankly, am probably as bemused as you probably are.
